Twist sent me over his latest column. It is a typically good piece, this time looking at how superhero comics reflect American involvement in Iraq. It has all of his trademark geekdom, spot-on insight and good turns of phrase – my favourite being ‘like multicoloured spandex mirrors’. I tend to disagree with analysis of
Ultimates, but agree about Marvel’s bravery in doing the current storyline less than five years after 9/11. For copyright reasons, I cannot reproduce the column here, but if I can remember, I’ll try and post a link to the
London Free Press when it gets published in a few days time.
