One of the lines about writing that has the most resonance with me was made by Gene Fowler. He said: ‘Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.’
Right now, I am having a drops of blood day.

i love it!
there's a quote by François Truffaut about filmmaking that could also apply:
"Making a film is like a stagecoach ride in the old west. When you start, you are hoping for a pleasant trip. By the halfway point, you just hope to survive."
This isn't the entire quote (i couldn't find the whole thing), but it's close enough.
Creating definitely has her costs--like a bad-marriage! ;0) I understand completely, especially with writing. Thankfully, it isn't my main-medium. Philip K. Dick, Burroughs, and many other authors has stated how writing kills you every time you do it. I believe this.
David, as a writer (genius unsung and dubious brilliance unpublished though it may be) I SO get it.
I have nothing more profound to say at this juncture.
