Slovenian Meejah Hor

I have agreed to do some more publicity for the Freemasons On Trial documentary, but only because it is publicity for Slovenia. The countries that emerged from the Yugoslav Wars of Dissolution have a special place in my personal history. I get a certain kick out of being translated into Slovenian, Serbian, Croatian, Bosniak, Montenegrin, Macedonian and Albanian, (that list alone should tell you an awful lot about the Dissolution Wars).

This means that when I get an interview request for ‘the most read Slovenian print medium’ and it ends ‘I send you best regards from Slovenia’ I feel like being incredibly helpful. I am not sure whether I can be classed as a Slovenian Meejah hor as there is no money or other discernible benefit to myself involved in giving an interview*. Still, I am sure it will give my Slovenian acquaintances something to chuckle about.

*Dosjeji Zarot is still in print in Slovenia, but neither Kid Dork nor I are getting any royalties.

Not sure what this has to do with Slovenia, nothing actually, but Kurt Vonnegut JR has passed away. A light gone dark.

I'm still reading. There's lots to go through on your blog.

Kurt Vonnegut wrote Major Siegfried von Konigswald - the Beast of Yugoslavia - into Happy Birthday, Wanda June. That is about as close to a link I can think of at short notice.

Kurt Vonnegut JR's death is a case of a light gone out. When I first read Slaughterhouse-Five at the age of 11, much of it went over my head, but I am very glad I came back to him in my late teens.

Every writer should read his eight rules for writing a short story and I wish more people had heard him speak about the America that rarely gets the coverage it deserves.

My bowling ball is Slovenian. That is to say; I got it from the Slovenian Club which was run by the parents of the girl who gave it to me after I'd bowled my highest scorer ever (a measly 147.)

Somehow I think Vonnegut would've appreciated that. Somewhat anyhow...

Me, I'm a 1/4 Croation from my Mum's side. Never met the cause of that though. He left her and Nana when Mum was 3. I've always wondered what I might've learned from him.
